LIVERPOOL FC

Liverpool are a famous football club throughout the world. They have won many famous trophies down the years, including five Champion league trophies and eighteen league trophies. They've had great players such as Kenny Dagleis, Ian Rush, John Aldirge, Robbie Folwer, Jamie Carragher, Stephen Gerrard and Farnando Torres. They play their home games in Anfield, which is in Mersyside, Liverpool. The team hold the record of the best Champions league win, which was 8 - 0 against Bekistas. Steven Gerrard is the current Liverpool captian. Liverpool finished the 2009-2010 Premier league in seventh place.

Up until 1892 Everton played their home games in Anfield. They then were evicted from it. So Anfield owner John Houlding was left with an empty stadium. He then decided to make a team of his own. On March 15 1892 he made Liverpool. In 1901 Liverpool won their first ever league championship. In 1914 Liverpool played their first FA Cup final at Crystal Palace, but got beaten 1-0 against Burnley. In the 1976-77 season Liverpool won their first Champions league throphy. On April 15 1989 nintey-six Liverpool fans died at Hillsborough.

Liverpool fc have won more trophies than any other English club. They've won the Champions league five times, eighteen league titles, seven FA Cups, seven league cups and three UEFA Cups.

In the 2009 - 2010 season Liverpool did very poorly. They only finished seventh in the Premier League and made the Europa League. They only beat one of the top four teams which was Manchester United. They got knocked out of the Champions League in the first round finishing behind Fourintina and Lyon. Liverpool then went into the Europa League and got to the semi-final, which they lost to Athletico Madrid who went on to beat Fulham in the final.
