Pius Play in Croke Park

Word has reached GAA Headquarters about St. Pius' footballing prowess! Some of the St. Pius X BNS Junior footballers have been asked to play at half time in the National League opening game, Dublin Vs Kerry match in Croke Park, tomorrow (Saturday 4th). It is a huge honour for the school and these young players to be playing in front of such a large crowd on an occasion like this. We are sure we will do us very proud. Stay tuned for photos and more next week!"

Meanwhile Senior Hurlers succeeded in taking the inter-school tournament Shield from local rivals St. Joseph's

Rehab Support St. Pius

Many thanks to Rehab for providing the school with 5 PCs which will be used to replace some of the older computers in the computer room.

Mr. Lynch and Mr. Coyle feature in the 'Local News' pictured with Eileen Maher of Rehab.

Pius Pizzas

Some guys have all the luck. Before Christmas it was mini art installations. Today it was pizza time for Ms. O'Neill's fifth class. They must really be keeping that cookie full to the brim with high standards.

Dillons Do it Again

Mr. Dillon's class is on a roll: featuring on the Pius website twice in the one week. Mr. Lynch was so impressed with their shoeboxes that he asked Mr. D. would they be up to producing a piece of art for the school foyer.

"Leave it to us," they said, "We'll come up with something groovy." More 3D work; this time a winter theme with penguins and snowflakes and igloos and . . . .

From now on they'll be known as Mr. 3D's class!!!

Make sure you have a look when you're dropping young Popper off to school!

Henry's Highlights

Henry (in Ms. O'Donovan's second class) has been putting his computer skills to good use. Look at the lovely silhouette style picture he designed and printed.

Pupil Update Form

Please ensure that a completed Pupil Update form is returned to the class teacher as soon as possible. This must be completed and returned every year. If you have misplaced the form, there is one available to print at the Forms Page.

St. Pats, St. Pius & Fibonacci

St. Pius X BNS continues to work with St. Patrick's College of Education on the European study of the teaching of science and maths - the Fibonacci project. Greg Smyth of St. Pats checked in to interview some of the boys and ask them about science in the classroom.  Participating were Eoghan, Max, Luke and Ross.
